Those of you who can’t wait for the year to end would be pleased to know that Christmas is already arriving in the stores. Why, I’m already slowly building up the mood with every sip of Starbuck’s toffee nut latte.
Maybe “slow” should be the buzzword this holiday season. One certainly is busy enough rushing and scurrying about in one’s day to day life – taking it slow and enjoying the moments has become somewhat of an art when it comes to celebrations.
So as the malls are just about to get abuzz with festive fever, now is as good a time as any to start prepping. Yep, why wait till last minute to do all the holiday shopping and cram yourself with everyone else when the sales madness begins? Especially if you’re shopping for gifts – we all say it’s the thought that counts but people know exactly what you’re thinking when your gifts were obviously rummaged from some last minute bargain bin.
Start looking around now and you may find some nice things at reasonable prices. Look for promos online – there’s still time enough to have the items shipped to you before Christmas. And you certainly have enough time to make your own craft as well, if you’re so inclined. If you need ideas, TreeHugger has put up quite a “Slow Holiday” Gift Guide filled with great green-chic suggestions. Have a look!
The point of the year-end holiday season is to take time off and appreciate what the year has brought. So skip the stress and start to slowly get into it right now, and you’ll find you have all the time you need to reach a nice, satisfying wrap-up to 2009.

I am not sure about appreciating what the year has brought (bad news after another) but boy was it challenging. But let’s not be a grinch and try to enjoy it. Year end has always been my fav time of the year and no matter how bad things are, one thing is for sure…it’s great to see yet another year coming.
@someone: It’s up to you to find the silver linings in your clouds. But I hope things get brighter for you next year
Relax, I had yours picked out months ago. Now it’s just a matter of which to save for your bday, and which for xmas
@Will: Awww, that’s so sweet! I hope the bday gift doesn’t go stale
*rushes off to hunt for xmas present*
same to you too….I like seeing you happy
