A whole December of four-day work weeks have been screwing my time awareness. With every Friday being a holiday, I’d wake up on Saturday feeling like it’s Sunday, then wake up on Sunday feeling all ready for work but not having to go, and Monday would hit me with a ton of shitbrix like some mid-week hangover.
And just when I was getting used to that lovely three-day weekend rhythm, I went and took a day off for New Year’s Eve. So last Thursday felt like a non-working Friday, Friday felt like a Sunday, and today just feels like I’m mired in some sort of weekend limbo – as if, for the third day in a row, I’ve woken up to find that it’s Saturday. Again!
Maybe I’m just feeling the effects of getting stoned drunk on champagne and wine on the last night of 2009, followed by getting stoned drunk on vodka on the first night of 2010. Where’s my toffee nut latte?!
I’d better reset my body calendar or there’ll be more than the usual hell to pay come Monday. And I think I might know just the trick to get me back into my natural rhythm – have a hearty Sunday brunch, maybe one that involves a huge heap of bacon and eggs and hash browns and sausages and shrooms… *slurp*
Great idea. Now I just have to work out exactly when Sunday is.

It’s already hell!
Go easy on those “bacon and eggs and hash browns and sausages and shrooms”….you don’t want to be piling on the weights…
Today is Monday. But feels like a Wednesday. Cos I’ve been back at work in the office since Saturday after 8 days off!
