Mmm… Marmite. The strong-tasting paste may not be everybody’s cup of tea, but certainly brings me comforting memories of having it in my porridge those days when, as a kid, I’d be too sick to eat much. Lately, I’ve found myself missing it, and proceeded to procure myself a small jar. On nights when I’m lazy, I’d boil up a can of Campbell’s soup and slurp it up with Marmite on toast. Simple as that.
One day though, I figured I’d make a sandwich to pack to work – something I don’t actually do very often (sandwiches, being something I don’t eat all that much!). I definitely needed a rather substantial sandwich, not just some peanut butter and jam thing. It struck me that Marmite and beef would go well together and so I tried that out. The result was pretty satisfying – I must say my experiments are turning out a lot better than those disasters I’ve had before!

Marmite with marmalade toast FTW!
Really? Gotta try that one day
So did it taste like bovril or what? I actually like it more than marmite. Hated marmite in fact. Give me bull anytime.
U should really try it, Grilled Bovril Steak with leek. It’s yums!
Lol. I can’t actually tell the difference, but hey, if bovril works for you, go for it!
Stick finger in jar, swipe and lick.
